My fascination with agriculture began in childhood, growing up in the countryside, where traditional farming was the way of life. This early exposure fueled my desire to pursue a career in agricultural engineering at university and continue farming on a larger scale. With years of experience in machinery design and mechanization, I have been inspired to document my journey. Hearing about great pioneers who had innovatively transformed farming through their inventions into a more efficient and enjoyable practice from the Industrial Revolution to the present day deepened my passion for writing on agricultural mechanization. I am so confident you will enjoy these books as much as I enjoyed writing about their innovations.
Gene Kranz gave a precise and concise description of historic events around the creation of America’s manned space program and presented the key players at the forefront of NASA’s space exploration Missions. His participation in the space program from the early days of the Mercury program to the last Apollo mission was dramatically documented in this book to my admiration. A fascinating firsthand account by a veteran mission controller of one of America’s greatest achievements, this book reflects on what has happened to the space program and offers his own bold suggestions about what we ought to be doing in space now.
I fell in love with this book because of the author’s personal involvement and perceptions in some of the Mission programs. The graphic description of different explorations kept me spellbound to read each exploration to the end. Again, the book was written with simple and easy-flowing English grammar that makes you flow with every chapter until the end.
The man who headed the "tiger team" that saved the Apollo 13 astronauts gives an insider's view of NASA Mission Control, from the early years of trying to catch up with the Russians to the end of the manned spaced program.
The recommendation should have lots of “This book is what you need when space exploration is your passion. I have a passion and love for spacecraft systems and space explorations, which this book explicitly gives accounts of.
I enjoyed reading about the Apollo space missions and the ingenuity of the spacecraft designs and features, which many consider obsolete compared to today's standards.
The technological marvel that facilitated the Apollo missions to the Moon was the on-board computer. In the 1960s most computers filled an entire room, but the spacecraft's computer was required to be compact and low power. Although people today find it difficult to accept that it was possible to control a spacecraft using such a 'primitive' computer, it nevertheless had capabilities that are advanced even by today's standards.
This is the first book to fully describe the Apollo guidance computer's architecture, instruction format and programs used by the astronauts. As a comprehensive account, it will span the disciplines of computer…
The Extraordinary Journey of David Ingram
by
Dean Snow,
An ordinary sailor named David Ingram walked 3600 miles from Mexico to Canada over the course of eleven months in 1568-9. There, he and two companions were rescued by a French ship on the Bay of Fundy. They were the first Englishmen to explore the interior of North America.
I love this book for its detailed explanation of the different factors in machinery utilization and the practicality of engaging different machines in farm operations.
The book's contents practically made farming cheap and comfortable, providing precepts upon precepts of processes, machinery, and guides to the successful operation of these machines. The book gives a focused approach to farmers and operators of agricultural mechanization on how to maximize their productivity.
Farm Mechanization has been identified as one of the factors that can promote the achievement of food security among both developed and developing countries. However, with the current trend of sustainable agriculture that promote conservation agriculture (CA) some of the farm machineries are highly discouraged while others act as complements or substitutes to CA. This book elaborates on some of the factors to consider in the use and utilization of a farm machine. This book walks the audience on the different farming tasks, the objective of the task and the best machinery to use to achieve this task while at…
I love this book because of the author’s choice of words in tracing the genealogy of solutions to age-long diseases ravaging the early man, as well as some habitual practices that could cause disease infestation.
The book explicitly navigated through these practices through the Neolithic ages to the Italian Alps, Bronze-ages, and to the present day Big Pharma conglomerates spending billions of dollars on state-of the art laboratories well equipped with knowledgeable personnel to discover blockbuster drugs.
The title of the book is so catchy and fact-filled, providing narrative history of solution to human health challenges. The author infuses the book with so much expertise in finding solutions to life-threatening situations.
"A must-read for a 'behind the scenes' look at new drug development.” —Madelyn Fernstrom, PhD, NBC News Health Editor. The surprising, behind-the-scenes story of how our medicines are discovered, told by a veteran drug hunter.
The search to find medicines is as old as disease, which is to say as old as the human race. Through serendipity— by chewing, brewing, and snorting—some Neolithic souls discovered opium, alcohol, snakeroot, juniper, frankincense, and other helpful substances.
Ötzi the Iceman, the five-thousand-year-old hunter frozen in the Italian Alps, was found to have whipworms in his intestines and Bronze-age medicine, a worm-killing birch fungus,…
The year is 1970 when the lives of Darlina Flowers, a young fledgling go-go dancer, and Luke Stone, a wild rebel Texas musician, become powerfully intertwined. The wild ride of their love story journey will make you laugh, cry, and root for their success.
I love this book because it brought to the fore my childhood memories of stories and fantasies about space exploration and alien wars in the zeniths in the early 1970s. It revealed the secret behind-the-scenes stories of the fierce battles that launched the world superpowers into space. It gave a succinct description of the spy planes that drove Nikita Khrushchev crazy each time the Americans pried into the Soviet Union air space.
The characters perfectly depicted the scientists and astronauts prior to the launching of Korolev's satellite in October 1954, giving rise to the emergence of Sputnik adventures that led to the historic moon landing, the invention of cell and mobile communication gadgets, and, ultimately, the internet revolution.
Matthew Brzezinski critically explored the nitty-gritty of the Kremlin, the White House, secret military facilities, and the halls of Congress in this book, simplifying the exploits of the rival Russians and American intelligence, setting in motion sterling space stories that never left the world the same.
For the fiftieth anniversary of Sputnik, the behind-the-scenes story of the fierce battles on earth that launched the superpowers into space The spy planes were driving Nikita Khrushchev mad. Whenever America wanted to peer inside the Soviet Union, it launched a U-2, which flew too high to be shot down. But Sergei Korolev, Russia's chief rocket designer, had a riposte: an artificial satellite that would orbit the earth and cross American skies at will. On October 4, 1957, the launch of Korolev's satellite, Sputnik, stunned the world. In Red Moon Rising, Matthew Brzezinski takes us inside the Kremlin, the White…
New ideas and developed technologies in agricultural practices depend largely on scientific research and diversity. The dynamic nature of this scientific research is evident in the widespread requirements in the indices of agricultural operations and the complexity of agricultural machinery for increased production.
The book presents details of the basic concepts in the development of agricultural machinery, mechanization, and extensive works on machinery utilization in agricultural production in eleven chapters to acquaint students, researchers, stakeholders, and farmers with requisite knowledge and skills on agricultural operations and machinery utilization for effective agricultural mechanization.
During the 1970s and 80s, the Soviet Union penetrated the corporate economy and financial systems of the United States to engage in industrial espionage.
